McGrowl-Lick Dog Run-Brooklyn
McGrowl-Lick Park Dog Run an awesome dog run located inside of McGolrick Park in South Greenpoint. Adorable name aside, this dog run is a great spot with two sections for small and all dogs, water bowls with hoses to fill them with fresh water, a pebble surface, and plenty of naturally shaded picnic tables for humans to relax while their dogs run around.
Sternberg Dog Run-Brooklyn
Sternberg Dog Run is located in Sternberg Park between the Broadway G stop and Lorimer J/M stop. It is a nice two section dog run for the area. While the google reviews for it are a bit hit or miss, when we visited, it seemed in decent condition.
McCarren Park Dog Run-Brooklyn
McCarren Park dog run is a nice little dog park. It has two fully separated sides for small and all dogs. It has a wood chip surface and plenty of natural shade from all of the parks trees. In terms of features, it didn’t have much.
Pier 6 Dog Run-Brooklyn
Pier 6 Dog Run is a dog park at the south end of Brooklyn Bridge Park. It is a circular astroturf dog run with just one section for all dogs. There is a ledge around the entire edge for seating all around the circle. The circular layout encourages running around and is deceptively large even though it looks very small from the outside.
Tompkins Square Dog Run-Manhattan
Tompkins Square Park Dog Run located in the historic East Village park is a huge double sided dog run with sections for small and all dogs. The all dogs side is gravel covered and the small dogs side has gravel, planks, and some astroturf.
Parks Dog Run-Manhattan
Parks Dog Run is on the East River area of Manhattan. This park near the seaport district is tucked under the FDR highway which gives it coverage from sun and rain allowing you to run around more days than most parks. It is a fully paved park with quite a few enrichment elements like large stumps, tunnels and sculptures that your dogs can run around on. Unlike most parks that separate large and small dogs, this only has one section.
Washington Square Park Dog Run-Manhattan
Washington Square Park, the Greenwich Village staple, is home to two separate dog parks, one exclusively for small dogs and one for all dogs. They aren’t the largest dog parks but they are well maintained and were great stopping points to let Benji run around while we were visiting the park.
Washington Park Dog Run-Brooklyn
Washington Park Dog Run, not to be confused with Washington Square Park Dog Run, is a dog park is located in Washington Park in Park Slope, Brooklyn. It is a gravel covered dog run with two halves that has a connecting gate that allows it to expand to a larger space for all dogs.
Riverside Park South 72nd St Dog Run-Manhattan
Riverside Park South 72nd St Dog Run is another Upper West Side Dog Run. This one is significantly quieter than it’s neighboring dog run, the West 72nd St Dog Run, so it’s a perfect spot for a chill afternoon where your dog can run around without too much chaos going on from other dogs.
Bull Moose Dog Run-Manhattan
Bull Moose Dog Run is a dog park located in the Upper West Side right outside the Natural History Museum in Theodore Roosevelt Park. It has just completed renovations in 2020 and has some great features. It is a nice size for running around, is mostly gravel covered with a small section of astroturf, and it has some giant boulders for climbing.
Triborough Bridge C Dog Run-Queens
Triborough Bridge C Dog Run is a dog park located under the Triborough Bridge on the outskirts of Astoria Park. This is a dog park that makes an excellent use of the space it was given. It has a concrete surface with tons of fun hills for the dogs to run around on and rocks for climbing.
Owl's Head Park Dog Run-Brooklyn
Owl’s Head Dog Park is a dog run located in Owl’s Head Park in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. This dog park is a decent size.
Bugsy's Dog Run-Queens
This is a small independently operated dog run located in Astoria, Queens in Astoria Park. It is not associated with NY Parks. It is a single section dog run located right along the East River. While it does have some of the most incredible views of any dog park we have been to in the city so far, it isn't the most up to date dog run. It only has a single gate, so if entering while other dogs are in the park, be sure to be extra careful so no one escapes.
Dyker Beach Dog Run-Brooklyn
This dog run in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn is an awesome spot to bring your dog. It a very large dog run in Dyker Beach Park with plenty of space for your dog to run around. There are two separate sections for all dogs and small dogs. They have water stations with fresh water for the dogs
Sirius Dog Run-Manhattan
Sirius Dog Run (aka Kowsky Dog Run) is a gorgeous dog run located at Kowsky Plaza. It is a small dog run but draws quite a crowd. It only has a single section but it has plenty of shade, a decent amount of space for running around, water bowls for dogs, and rolling concrete hills for running around on. It also has a pool that dogs can enjoy during warm weather.
